Our program in January was led by Dianne. She showed us some examples of her crayon colored embroidery work. Hopefully we will have some pictures of works in progress and completed works at the next meeting.  Dianne said this is a good technique to use for a grandchild or childs drawing.

Another example of Dianne's embroidery blocks colored with crayon.Her sister Sandy did the embroidery work on this one. Members busily colored their designs as important issues were discussed by the group. Our new president Peggy led the discussion so that all members had a say in what we are doing this year.

Quilt by Bernadette. Bernadette also brought lots of fabric for members to use for the backs of their orphan block quilts. If you need some, you can call her.

Bernadette's Hawaiian Orange Peel Quilt. Her sister donated the hawaiian fabric, and the quilt is for their mom.

Pam told us about a need to help some ladies learn how to sew.  She showed a project that might be something to get them started. If  interested contact Pam.

Pam took a class to learn ruler work quilting.

Although this picture does not show it well, the designs could be seen easily on the back. Pam and her son can do these designs for you if any members are interested.

Ruth made some table runners that her daughter in law requested.

Donna completed the first two orphan block quilts that we plan on giving to a nursing home at the end of the year.

This wedding quilt for her "other son and DIL" was completed faster than the last one.. They have only been married less than a year.

New member Betty shared about her move to SLC from Kansas and that it had been hard.  She is looking forward to making new friends and we hope she continues to come to Sandy Stitchers! On the upside they now live in the same city as their grandchild!

We have all seen Tracy working diligently on the applique for this Piece 'O Cake Amish quilt. Now that she is past president she will probably have it done in no time!  

Peggy has been working on and is half done with this scrap quilt by Sarah Fielke and Kathy Doughty, some Australian Quilters.  Some of the scraps have been shared by fellow Sandy Stitchers.
