March 2020

Carolyn of My Sisters Quilts quilt shop gave the program for March on Mystery Quilts

She uses EQuilt to design her mysteries.  She has designed over 65 mystery quilts. She recommends drawing out  a design on graph paper if you do not use EQ, if you see a design you like and want to play around with it.

She gave us some tips on doing mystery quilts successfully.  Consider the size of prints you use. Use a pop of color.  Use a color wheel. Use the black or white function on your phone after taking a picture of your fabrics to easily determine value of fabrics.

She also enjoys seeing what secondary patterns are created by moving the blocks around.

She showed us many of her designs

Leanna has done many of Carolyn's mysteries.
