So what happened to May? Well the answer is, although we had a May meeting, it was a very small meeting because the Home Machine Quilting Show as well as the Spring International Quilting trade show were both held in the area about the same time as our meeting. Many of our members were working one or the other and some were working both. Linda volunteered to run the meeting and a "make and take" project was worked on. Thank you so much Linda! Hopefully the members who were able to attend the May meeting will bring their projects and share with us in July.
Our meeting this month was held at a nearby park. We had a potluck and the food was sooo good. We were privileged to have Susan Davis of "Aunt Susie's House" present a trunk show for us. Susan designs punch needle projects and has combined some of her projects with quilting. We enjoyed seeing the things she creates and as an extra bonus Susan presented each of us with a pattern. She also had patterns with her that we could purchase. The picture below does not do justice to her projects, so if you would like to know more and see better pictures go http://www.auntsusieshouse.com/.
Kathy brought some beautiful examples of the project being offered at our retreat in October. We can look forward to some really amazing quilts made from this project in November.
Finally we had two May and June Block of the Month blocks shared.
If anyone forgot to bring their blocks this month, please bring them as well as your July blocks to the July meeting and don't forget your May meeting "make and take" projects.
