Vanessa's beloved Aunt passed away. She made this quilt for Vanessa and to honor her Vanessa bound it

Examples of micro mini quilts Vanessa has been working on for a sew a long she joined

May's Trip Around the World theme took us to India where African immigrants make quilts called KAWANDI. Patty shared her knowledge of these quilts and led the group in a mini kawandi project.

Patty explained how random shapes are sewn down by hand. We used pearl cotton.

The triangles sewn on the corners are called foulas and represent flowers

Earlier in May Vanessa planned a "Staytreat" for members.
All who came sewed, socialized and had a lot of fun. This is a quilt by Leanna

Quilt that people could work on at the staytreat. Another option was to work independently on your own project. A productive two days was had by all and the venue was great.
