Jill shows the BOM for June.  We met at the park  and had a potluck picnic.  Lisa generously shared a ton of fabric. Everyone went home with a few sacks full.  Then a rainstorm hit and all the quilters scattered!

May 2019

During our May meeting Virgina told us about how she went up to the Golden Spike Celebration. She said it was fantastic.... Ruth also was able to go.

Peggy got to go on a trip to see her grand baby and finished her daughter's Wedding Star quilt.

We talked about creating a pin for Sandy Stitchers. This inspired Jill to make this little wallhanging to hang all of her pins on.

April 2019

Earleane moved here from Florida. Not only does she have sewing talents but she plays the dulcimer.

New member Denise has a new long arm and plenty of room to quilt in her new house.

Barbara goes over the latest by law with members.

Sandra presented the program for this month, " English Paper Piecing" (EPP)  This quilt is a Dresden Plate. It was her Uncle's childhood quilt.

This grandmother's garden quilt was given to Tracy.

Sandra's first project. She can take it where ever she goes to put in a few stitches when she can. Sandra explained that EPP projects are portable and that once you finish a round you can take out the papers out of the past rounds and reuse the paper. You should leave the paper in the round you just finished till the next round is done.

Tracy showed us some new tools that will help with EPP. There is a new hexagon punch by Fiskar. The extra large size cuts 1 inch hexagon templates. It is around 10 dollars. Tracy shared templates and fabric with all who wanted to try EPP.

Sandra showed how to start sewing the fabric onto the hexagon templates and then showed us how she stitches each hexagon together with a blind hem stitch which is virtually invisible on the right side of the work.
