July Meeting 2012

Our monthly meeting was last night and again it provided a wealth of inspiration. We had some lovely pillowcases donated for our year long pillowcase project. These pillowcases are donated to service men and women receiving treatment for PTSD. Thank you so much ladies!

 Check out this lovely Block of the Month quilt. Isn't it beautiful!

Our program was presented by Dianne and the subject was making dish rugs. First she showed us some finished examples.

 Then Dianne demonstrated how easy and fun they are to make either using plain fabric or orphan blocks.

 Show and tell was wonderful as always. So many lovely projects!

June 2012 Meeting

June's meeting was our annual picnic in the park potluck and, for a change, the weather was absolutely perfect. Lets start with the picnic part of the meeting. The food was wonderful!

 We all enjoyed it very much!

 After a wonderful meal, we were honored to have Laurie Bird of Rose Cottage Quilts present an awesome trunk show. She was so much fun, just like her quilts. Here are a few of the quilts she showed us. Sorry there aren't more, the sun was not cooperating with my photography efforts. If you want to see more of these wonderful quilts, go here.

It was so nice to see these lovely quilts and hear the stories behind them. Here's a picture of the quilts folded.

May 2012 Meeting

We had a wonderful meeting once again. First we handled some business, our By Laws were reviewed and voted on. Then we elected a new board members. Our new board members are:
Secretary/Treasurer is now Marsha W.
President Elect is now Dianne G.
President is now Sandra H.
President Past is now Tina C.

Tina brought a wonderful cake to thank the members for her term as acting President. Isn't it beautiful!

Some of our wonderful ladies brought more pillowcases to be donated.

 We also had wonderful reports from some of the ladies who had either attended or volunteered at the Home Machine Quilting Show. We even had a lucky winner of a door prize!

 Some of our ladies shared their progress on our 2012 BOM.

 Dianne shared her block and quilt that was included in the newest version of Quilt Maker's 100 Blocks Magazine. Congratulations Diane!

We had some wonderful projects shared. Some were finishes and some were works in progress, all were inspiring!
